Drivers of Green Cars are Not Welcome at Chelmsford High

CHELMSFORD — Chelmsford police are investigating a posting on Facebook.com that purports to be an event named “kill all gay people yea.”

It appears the posting might be nothing more than a terrible joke, but the Chelmsford High School administration and the leader of the Gay-Straight Alliance at CHS aren’t laughing.

Nine students who are part of the Chelmsford High School network on the popular social networking Web site are among the 17 people signed up to attend the event. Fifty-three students who are part of the school network are among the 102 people who have said they will not attend.

The event’s description, posted on the page created for the event, is “ever one that s gay dies.” (sic)

In a space where the host of the event is usually named, the creator wrote “do you hate people that are gay and have a green car.” (sic)

(Sigh) I remember the days when the kids over at Chelmsford High would spend every spare moment consumed with trying to figure out how to beat Lowell in football. But things change I guess. Apparently Red Raider Football has devolved so much that “Gays that drive green cars” are more of an immediate threat. I wouldn’t be shocked if the weight rooms at CHS have been turned into giant computer labs to facilitate hastily made Facebook pages to alienate Gay/Straight alliance students. Nothing would shock me.

So there you have it. I think the only conclusion we can conjure up here is that unless Lowell High finds themselves a coach to turn this mess around, gay/straight/drivers of green cars will continue to endure the wrath of the Chelmsford Lions. Nobody wants that.
